Visually, we don’t perceive our environment merely as a reflection of different surfaces, i.e., through their external differentiation. We don’t recognise a bird just by the structure and colour of its feathers, a cat just by its soft fur. We surmise, we think we know that a lot more is hidden under the surface; joints, tendons and muscles, a locomotor system, organs, their interaction, and structure of conditions as an organism. I understand preoccupation with anatomy, drawing as a serious process of confrontation, amazement and knowledge acquisition. The aim is to teach drawing as a way of playful confrontation and comprehension, so that this subject does not remain an expert tool, but becomes a living and, as history shows, an extremely changeable means of communication.
