Ein Gespräch über Arbeit, Leben und Kunst
Matthias Garff, Bildender Künstler & Alumnus der HfBK Dresden, berichtet aus seiner vielfältigen Berufspraxis und erzählt, wie sein beruflicher Lebensweg nach dem Studium weiterging. Er gibt dabei einen Einblick in sein künstlerisches Schaffen und seinen beruflichen Werdegang. Darüber hinaus ist Raum für Fragen und Austausch.

"The animal is the central motif of my work. It is based on experiences in an urban environment, where nature is found mainly in cultivated form and in close connection to architecture. I enjoy working with found materials and everyday objects. My animal figures often take on human traits, they become personalities. I develop them as individuals of a community. In these groups of figures, a web of relationships evolves that resembles to a social structure and highlights diversity. The insects in my object boxes also present themselves rich in color and form. Crown caps, candy wrappers, and hair ties turn into beetles, butterflies, and grasshoppers. The boxes refer to our wasteful use of finite resources. The garbage of the roadside becomes an ambassador of an endangered biodiversity." (Matthias Garff, April 2021)
