Collecting, Preserving, Researching: A Look into Dresden’s Archives

Published by the Dresden Historical Society, this issue focuses on Dresden’s archival landscape. The University Archive is also represented with an exceptionally interesting contribution.

On September 8, the current issue No. 162 of the Dresdner Hefte was presented at the Dresden City Archive. The event, which included a subsequent panel discussion, was also attended by Dresden’s Deputy Mayor for Culture, Annekatrin Klepsch.

Published by the Dresden Historical Society, the issue titled Collecting, Preserving, Researching: A Look into Dresden’s Archives explores the city’s archival landscape. Authors from twelve different archives present selected “treasures” from their collections.

For the Dresden University of Fine Arts, Prof. Ivo Mohrmann and Sven Barnick contributed an article on the important Semper estate. Their text, Pinholes in the Semper Estate – A Surprise, highlights an extraordinary piece from this collection.
