Introduction to the complex relationships between technology and design for film and video. The workshop focuses on a holistic treatment of topics ranging from recording to presentation by providing theoretical and practical basic knowledge and making students capable of independent artistic application using professional equipment.

  • VIDEO: HD camcorder, 4K HDR camera, GoPro Hero 4 (with underwater housing)
  • AUDIO: 2-track handheld recorder, 4/6-track recorder (with Timecodesync), directional microphone, clip-on microphone, radio set, boom pole set
  • ACCESSORIES: Field monitor, LED head light, steadycam, hand camera rig, Follow Focus, Mattebox
  • LIGHTING: different spotlights (floodlights, spot, soft), flags, grip


Cutting/editing

  • Avid-Workstation (MC 8), Nitris DX Avid-Hardware, reference monitor (standardised colours for HDTV standard)
  • Premiere Pro-Workstation (CC), reference monitor (standardised colours for HDTV standard, sRGB, Adobe RGB, DCI-P3)

  • Mobile workstation on laptop with calibratable 3K display for colour grading in the set and rough cut (CS6, Resolve)
