EU4Art logo winner József Gábos

The winner of the EU4Art logo contest has been announced.

József Gábos, a student of graphic design at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts (HUFA) in Budapest, beat 59 competitors. The competition was open to students from Allianz universities in Budapest, Rome, Riga and Dresden.

The aim of the competition was to design a logo that would make the EU4ART alliance recognizable and distinguishable to the public and act as a link between the partners of the alliance. Since a key goal of the alliance is mutual exchange at all university levels, students will be involved in project development from the very beginning. Fortunately, numerous students from the HfBK Dresden participated in the competition with designs, signaling that cross-border activities are highly relevant to their studies.

"This alliance makes visible that different artistic and institutional traditions and profiles represent a great wealth that can have an impact on society" says Matthias Flügge, Rector of the HfBK Dresden, adding that this competition is the beginning of numerous measures with which the alliance will be visible in public in the future.

Congratulations to József Gábos, student of HUFA, who won first place with his work and thus €1000. Vectirāns Gatis, student of AAL, receives a prize money of 500 € with the second place. Alvis Berngards and Agate Eglite-Drezina, also students of AAL, take the third place, which is rewarded with a performance bonus.

We would like to thank all the students who participated in the competition with their work and showed us a variety and range of designs.
