Thomas Albdorf is a Vienna-based photographer whose work manifests a striking pictorial vocabulary. His photographs explore the intersection between photography and sculpture in addition to exploring the processes of decontextualization experienced by online imagery. His work has been exhibited throughout galleries in Austria, Germany, Sweden, UK & the United States and is found in German museums including Folkwang Essen and MdbK Leipzig. He also collaborates with local and international brands, using his wide range of techniques to develop stunning editorial and product images. In his lecture, Thomas will discuss his personal work and contemporary image production under the influence of artificial neural networks and software-based images, in addition to answering questions from students.
