Supported by the project "Virtual Experiments on Works of Art" (VirtEx) at the Institute for Structural Analysis at TU Dresden, existing computer simulation models are developed using the Finite Element Method on painted wooden artworks based on investigation results of the icons of the Russian Memorial Church in Leipzig.
The purpose of these investigations is to predict the structural behaviour of wooden artwork within a fluctuating climate by means of computer simulations, in order to avoid damage to the works of art based on these data by controlling the climate and taking specific measures.
The colloquium will take place online and will be a conference between the participating institutions in Dresden and Moscow.
- Access for audience via live stream will be announced on the websites of the cooperation partners and at https://tud.link/nemm
