Within the framework of EU4ART, the construction of 2 model dolls could be commissioned. The project, which was initiated by Maja Drachsel (painting technique) and Felix Lippmann (orientation phase), goes back to the time under Prof. Siegfried Klotz, who used these model dolls as study objects for teaching. Maja Drachsel, for example, reports that she, too, was introduced to the artist dolls as objects of study during her time at the university:
"I knew about these dolls as well, but hadn't thought about them for a long time. When I studied here 18 years ago, these dolls were still present. Siegfried Klotz, the professor of fundamentals at the time, put them on a chair for us in our studio, and so I and many other students painted them over and over again and were able to learn a lot about painting and pictorial work as a result. These dolls are now very valuable and unfortunately are no longer available to the students."
As a result, Maja Drachsel and Felix Lippmann, in cooperation with Lili Laube and Robert Frenzel, developed the idea of producing the model dolls again in order to transfer them back into artistic teaching. Joint scientific research on the historical relevance of artists' dolls (examples from art history) is also conceivable in this regard.
In addition, the partner academies of EU4ART should also use the new artist's dummies as objects of study and mediation for their teaching. The artist puppets will thus travel in the near future and contribute to joint projects with the partner institutions.
