It is one of the first university training centers in the world in this field. The anniversary year will be celebrated with numerous events that offer insights into teaching as well as research and restoration projects.
The highlight of the anniversary year is a festive colloquium from October 9th to 12th, 2024. Current research and practice in the field of preserving works of art will be presented in lectures and exhibitions, studio and laboratory visits and excursions. Experts from home and abroad are invited to speak about their work. As part of a panel discussion, the restoration profession and the changing requirements for university education will be discussed.
The anniversary year is also an opportunity to honor decades of cooperation with numerous museums and collections, monument offices and parishes. This collaboration is one of the particular strengths of the Dresden course, which combines academic teaching with practice-oriented training.
