Through various courses, the workshop for hand binding offers the possibility of acquiring basic working techniques and basic knowledge in the areas of book, paper and working with cardboard/paper in the three-dimensional sphere.
Traditional as we ll as experimental bookbinding techniques, papermaking, basics of presentations and materials science are taught.
Special events are also conducted.

Special format
Paper as a material - basis, possibility, diversity
In this workshop, paper will be examined, tested and worked on together in a wide variety of dimensions.
We are planning a semester-long, open format in theory and practice in cooperation with various colleagues from the HfBK and the SKD (including Artistic Publishing, Photography Workshop, Typography Workshop, Kupferstichkabinett, Volkskunstmuseum ...)
Main topics: Paper as an artistic working material, paper in the exhibition context, paper in the museum space, paper and volume

Course participation is a prerequisite for independent work in the workshop during the corresponding opening hours.
All offers and courses in the workshops are reserved for enrolled students and members of the Dresden University of Fine Arts.
