Personal Profle

Samira studied textile design at the Weißensee School of Art, where she specialised in multilayered weaves in her Master's degree. In her work she focuses on experimental material development in connection with the design of production technologies. She works on the entire textile process chain, i.e. the interaction of fibre, yarn and construction as a system. In her master's thesis ‘Woven Systems’, she has achieved different material qualities by modifying these building blocks. In this sense, woven systems can be seen as an analogue programming of material behaviour, texture and three-dimensional structures. In this way, spatial structures could also be conceived that are completely woven and work without additional static building elements. We will continue to pursue this approach with rescene.
