The Orientation Phase

Spontaneous changes of plan determine my work as an artist. I concentrate on branch points in everyday life and comment on what I observe. Painting, which in my eyes is open to experimentation, can never be expanded enough and can never be applied far enough beyond its boundaries. Drawing, which can be used anywhere and at any time, captures even my most trivial pictorial thoughts. I particularly enjoy working with the technique of screen printing because, unlike working in the studio, it is an objectifying process. It fascinates me when possibilities become decisions that have been made. I also organize exhibitions and develop concepts with other artists.

It's important to me to show what fascinates me and means something to me.

The Orientation Phase is an opening process for the following in-depth exlporation and further development on the way to a mature artistic approach.

Technical awareness and a willingness to reflect conceptually are the cornerstones for sustainable independence in artistic practice. In my view, in addition to teaching skills, it is just equaly important today to question methods that have already been learned, to be able to "unlearn" established views and to become clear about conceptual goals. Together with Professor of Sculpture Barbara Wille, we address the individual needs of the students and use a variety of methods to prepare them for their artistic careers.
