+++ 11.12.2020

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear University Members,

due to the new corona protection measures issued by the Free State of Saxony, which will apply from 14.12.2020, studio, workshop and laboratory operations as well as individual artistic consultations/conversations and internships will continue to be permitted. Seminars, lectures, class consultations and the like. Courses can initially only be held digitally until 10 January 2021. Other university events such as committee meetings, Christmas parties, etc. must also either be cancelled or held digitally (Par. 5 para. 1 sentence 2 Saxon Corona Protection Ordinance). The university remains open for university members, but only for employees during the regular closing time over Christmas and New Year.

It is recommended that suitable activities be carried out as part of mobile work. However, any employee may use the workstation at the university. If necessary, please prove the valid reasons (way to work) by presenting the university ID card/student ID card or, if applicable, by presenting this email.

Only parents from critical infrastructure sectors are entitled to emergency care in schools and daycare centres: www.dresden.de/de/leben/kinder/kindertagesbetreuung.php

This does not include the HfBK Dresden. Accordingly, we cannot issue such certificates. Therefore, I ask employees who have to ensure the care of their children to look for solutions themselves (e.g. mobile work, alternating care with the partner, leave, possibly leave from work according to TV-L / SGB).

The university's hygiene concept must continue to be adhered to, taking into account the above-mentioned restrictive regulations and higher-ranking regulations. Please note that in the city of Dresden, exit restrictions and other tightening regulations will already be in force from tomorrow, as the 200 incidence value has been exceeded on more than five consecutive days.

Stay healthy! I wish everyone a happy third Advent. Best regards

Yours

Jochen Beißert

Chancellor

+++ 04.05.2020

Ladies and gentlemen,
dear students,

Today we are starting to bring some normality back into the university life. The studios are now accessible again, albeit with certain restrictions. Individual projects can be realized in the workshops. The far-reaching measures of the past few weeks are behind us and we must look ahead. The use of the university facilities is essential for study, artistic practice and research. Therefore, I am sure that all of us have been hoping for the soon reopening of the workshops. Nevertheless, it is still important to observe the rules of distance and hygiene. Unfortunately, the danger has not yet been averted, so that we have to live with it. However, I am confident that we will implement this at our university. You will certainly notice some changes, such as the tents on Güntzstraße or seminar and meeting rooms where chairs are missing or others are marked. On the one hand, this should provide relief for studios in which the normal occupancy rate is too high and where it is not possible to change models. On the other hand, we are also preparing to hold seminars at our premises again from 18 May. I'm in discussion with the Studentenwerk about opening the Johannstadt and Brühl refectories to organize a "to go" dinner. I also hope that we will soon be able to make an offer from the Studentenwerk regarding childcare options for single parents. You will receive further information as soon as more details are available. The library will also reopen during the course of the week, but under different conditions (borrowing with advance notice, etc.). As will the Octagon reopen on Friday, May 8. Despite these measures, which serve our health protection, I think that your work at the house is largely possible again.

I wish you a good start at the university in the summer semester 2020.

Yours
Jochen Beißert
Chancellor
