Since mid-June, selected final works of the bachelor's and master's graduates of the Latvian Academy of Arts (AAL) can be viewed on the virtual platform VirtuAAL.lma.lv. In addition to the virtual tour, a digital catalog presents the works of the exhibitors.
The name of the virtual gallery - VirtùAAL - is a combination of the philosophical-theoretical term "virtù" by Niccolò Machiavelli, which encompasses all the qualities necessary for "achieving great things," and the abbreviation for the Art Academy of Latvia "AAL."
"Fresh Meat for Critique 2020" will be the first, but not the only exhibition presented in the virtual space of the Academy of Arts. Other exhibitions by students will follow, offering viewers visual formats that work like this only in the virtual world. Visitors will not only be able to view the works, but also learn more about the students, ideas and creative processes behind the works in detailed descriptions.
