In this project, 30 students from the University of Fine Arts in Dresden, Germany and the University of Fine Arts in Mulhouse, France, meet and collaborate on a project in each city. They will collaborate on a project merging textile design, costume design and theatre.

In the first part of the cooperation, taking place in Mulhouse, we focused on sustainable and experimental printing techniques, using waste materials from the textile industry in the Alsace. we worked on the subject of fabric printing with reference to the industrial textile history of Mulhouse, France's centre for the production of printed cotton fabrics in the 19th and 20th centuries.

In the second part of the cooperation, the students from Mulhouse will spend a week as guests at the HfBK Dresden. In Dresden, the students will continue their joint work and extend it into the architectural space with a focus on Karl-Heinz Adler's and Friedrich Kracht's shaped brickstones from the 70s and 80s.

The project is kindly supported by Erasmus+ and OFAJ/DFJW
