Starting out from the academy into artistic self-employment and taking the art world by storm? However, the career start as well as the living and income situation of visual artists often looks different: precarious living conditions that lead to poverty in old age. The professional career is therefore primarily characterized by the question, how can I as an artist live from my art and make a career? Establishing a successful artistic practice depends on a wide variety of factors, some of which are within one's own control.
In their lecture, Tizian Baldinger and Timon R. Böse offer an insight into the mechanisms of the art system, which are shaped by various actors and a wide variety of art and cultural institutions. The two speakers will give career tips and practical advice on "What drives the art market?" and "How to become successful as an artist?". A successful career as an artist is always subjective and very individual - and equally dependent on the artistic position as such.
Tizian Baldinger and Timon R. Böse talk about possible factors and strategies for success: What does success mean for each individual? What is the price for it? How big are the chances? How to deal with success and failure will also be addressed.
Tizian Baldinger is a Swiss artist, thinker and entrepreneur and Timon R. Böse is a Berlin-based book author, art historian and curator. Both have compiled a book from their extensive knowledge, which does not want to be a guidebook, but also not a scientific non-fiction book. It is a compendium, a handout, written easily and fluently and well structured, always appealing to the reader.
