Is there anything truly universal right now? When human conception about value influenced by many factors and layered dimensions. What is more valuable then? When those all factors and dimensions are striped?

Uji Handoko Eko Saputro a.k.a Hahan (b. 1983, Kebumen) is a visual artist who lives and works in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. His practice is based on observations and critique regarding the socio-political issues. His works are influenced by youth culture and comics, and spans from painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, installation, and performative work. One of the most intriguing topic explorations for him is about the mechanism of the art market, where power relation and inter-entity interests inside it create certain tensions that affect the art practice, commodification of art, and the position of artists in today's art scene.

Hahan is the founding members of Ace House Collective, an artist collective founded in Yogyakar ta in 2011 that works with communities and various networks in running a space as a youth art and culture laboratory. This includes generating projects that uses imitation as a methodology to represent an art form by using various interpretations of everyday infrastructure surrounding institutions/trade body that are often encountered by Indonesian people.

In this Artist's Talk, Hahan will share his previous works and projects, as well as his artistic practice With regard to the New Home Exchange project in Dresden, Hahan will share the work plan of a project that is being developed through his first trip this month. We hope you can join us to meet and share with Hahan.
